One of the greatest joys for missionaries serving overseas is the opportunity to connect with a global “network” of believers and to grow together in faith. Here’s the story of one such connection:
Doug is a member of a Vietnamese church in Boise, Idaho. On a recent trip over to southeast Asia he was able to meet a young woman named Jenny, and he introduced her to Christ. Jenny is not yet connected to a home church or fellowship, but she is eager to learn more about the Scriptures.
Doug became aware of our new Friends Network mission team in southeast Asia and saw an opportunity. He introduced Jenny to one of our evangelists, Kat, who is living in southeast Asia. Kat lives over an hour away from Jenny by train, so a visit usually requires an entire day. Nevertheless, Kat and Jenny get together about once a month to study the Bible.
Kat has really enjoyed getting to know Jenny and describes her as a “sweet person … with great insights into Scripture.”
We pray that God blesses this new friendship, and all the new relationships that he brings to our mission teams abroad!
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. - Colossians 3:16
